Power Point Usage Training for SD Teachers in Sleman Regency

UNY PPs Learning Technology Study Program (TP) holds power point training for elementary school teachers in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The training which was held on Saturday (09/13/2014) in the PPs UNY computer lab was attended by 23 elementary schools in Sleman Regency. Each school sends 1 teacher. Speakers at the training included Herman Herman Surjono, Ph.D, Dr. Ali Muhtadi, and Dian Wahyuningsih, M. Pd.

 

The first session was facilitated by Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D, who explained the use of power point media in learning. He mentioned the uses or benefits obtained in learning that uses media. The participants seemed very enthusiastic to join this training because the presentation was packaged in an attractive format. Participants are given time to submit their responses and questions so that the training climate is full of interactive activities. In this session also played a video on how to make a bad power point, so that participants can a clear picture of how to use the power point as a media reference that can be used in learning.

 

In the second session facilitated by Dr. Ali Muhtadi, the material is more on the principles of designing messages using power points. In the presentation which is packaged in a short, compact, and contained manner, participants can see examples of message design in a good power point. In this session, participants also showed their enthusiasm in participating in this training.

 

Dian Wahyuningsih, M. Pd who was assisted by students of the 2013 S2 Masters of UNY, invited the participants to practice how to design power points. All participants are directed in designing messages in power points. Each participant who finds it difficult to follow the direction of the facilitator, is assisted by students by visiting each participant's table and being guided to complete practical material.

 

At the end of the event, participants were given the opportunity to provide criticism and advice in the implementation of this training. Muhammad Mansur from MI Wahid Hasyim stated, "Through this power point training, we have again upgraded the science of how to make power points interesting. There are still teachers here who are 'catchy'. We got many benefits from this training. It is our hope that hopefully next year there will still be similar activities. ”From the overall training program, the participants felt happy and were assisted in designing interesting learning through power points.
