Workshop Online Learning by Instructional Technology Postgraduate Program of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY)

Facing the Era of Education 4.0, the Ministry of Research and Technology is encouraging universities to start conducting online learning in the form of blended learning and distance education (we called it Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh “PJJ”) following applicable laws and regulations. The implementation of PJJ is seen as a strategic step to increase the gross enrollment rate of tertiary education in Indonesia which is still low. Besides, PJJ itself aims to increase the expansion and equitable access to education, as well as improve the quality and relevance of education. To prepare the proposal to open the PJJ study program, the Instructional Technology Postgraduate Program held an online learning workshop for lecturers on Monday, October 1, 2018. Present as a resource person at the event was Dr. Sri Suning Kusumawardani, S.T., M.T. lecturer in the electrical and information technology department of the UGM and at the same time the manager of the UGM Academic Policy Innovation Center.

According to the Head of Instructional Technology Postgraduate Program of UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D. the target of this workshop is to produce an online course for all courses according to the curriculum of Instructional Technology Postgraduate Program as many as 23 courses uploaded at Besmart. The next step is to review and validate all these online courses so that they are feasible to be implemented in the PJJ program for external students as well as a blended learning program for internal students.
